JYP SIXTEEN: Episode 1 recap/ανασκόπηση

First it was Wonder Girls (2007), then missA (2010) and 5 years later its time for JYP's new girl group. The new girl group (Twice) will have 7 members, and JYP himself will choose these members from the 16 contestants of his survival reality show (SIXTEEN). The first episode is already online, watch it below and see the recap:	Πρώτα ήταν οι Wonder Girls το 2007, μετά οι missA το 2010 και τώρα το 2015 ήρθε η ώρα για το νέο girl group από τον JYP. Το girl group (με όνομα Twice) θα είναι 7μελές και ο ίδιος ο JYP θα επιλέξει τις επτά ανάμεσα από τις 16 κοπέλες που συμμετέχουν στο survival reality show του (SIXTEEN). There aren't any english subs, but you can watch it elsewhere with fanmade subtitles (part 1, part 2, part 3). Show starts with a small intro, girls are presented with some captions showing their name, their country and some skills. JYP invites them and announces that there will be two groups, Major and Minor. The girls in Major must keep their position and girls in Minor must fight for a place in Major. The show will last 3 months. The first selection is made according to recommendations from JYP's staff. So, Nayeon (나연), Minyoung (민영), Jiwon (지원), Momo (모모), Mina (미나), Chaeyoung (채영), and Dahyun (다현) are in Major and Sana (사나), Chaeyeon (채연), Chaeryeong (채령), Jungyeon (정연), Tzuyu (쯔위), Somi (소미), Eunsuh (은서), Natty (나띠) and Jihyo (지효) are in Minor.

Το επεισόδιο δεν έχει αγγλικούς υπότιτλους ωστόσο μπορείτε να το δείτε αλλού (μέρος 1, μέρος 2, μέρος 3). Ξεκινάει η εκπομπή με μια μικρή εισαγωγή και μερικές καρτέλες με τα ονόματα των κοριτσιών, τη καταγωγή τους και κάποια χαρακτηριστικά τους. Ο JYP τις καλεί και τους ανακοινώνει ότι θα υπάρχουν δύο γκρουπ, το Major και το Minor. Οι κοπέλες στο Major θα πρέπει να κρατήσουν τη θέση τους και αυτές στο Minor θα πρέπει να εντυπωσιάσουν ώστε να μεταβούν στο Major, σε ένα διάστημα τριών μηνών. Η αρχική σύνθεση των γκρουπ γίνεται βάση προτάσεων του επιτελείου του JYP, έτσι έχουμε τις Nayeon (나연), Minyoung (민영), Jiwon (지원), Momo (모모), Mina (미나), Chaeyoung (채영), και Dahyun (다현) στο Major και τις Sana (사나), Chaeyeon (채연), Chaeryeong (채령), Jungyeon (정연), Tzuyu (쯔위), Somi (소미), Eunsuh (은서), Natty (나띠) και Jihyo (지효) στο Minor.

Girls in Major will live like idols and will have some privileges (better means of transportation, better dorm and better training schedule), and they see the difference immediately:	Οι Major θα έχουν τα προνόμια των idols (καλύτερο μέσο μετακίνησης, καλύτερος κοιτώνας και καλύτερες ώρες εκπαίδευσης) και βλέπουν τη διαφορά από τη πρώτη στιγμή:

Their first mission is named "Are You A Star", they'll have to show to JYP that they are indeed stars. Girls from Major attended the showcase of missA for their Colors EP and Momo (aka Yura 2.0) showed missA a part of their choreography. Dahyun and Chaeyeon spoke with Jo Kwon and Jiwon and Minyoung with HA:TFELT (Yenny/Yeeun).	Η πρώτη τους αποστολή ονομάζεται "Are You A Star", θα πρέπει να δείξουν στον JYP ότι όντως είναι stars. Οι Major βρέθηκαν στο showcase των missA για το EP Colors και η Momo (η αλλιώς Yura 2.0) έδειξε στις ίδιες τις missA ένα μέρος της χορογραφίας του Only You. Οι Dahyun και Chaeyeon μίλησαν με τον Jo Kwon και οι Jiwon και Minyoung με τη HA:TFELT (Yenny/Yeeun).

It's time for the mission. The girls provided JYP with a keyword for their performance. JYP randomly picks one and the girl starts her performance. We learn that Jihyo (a ten year trainee), Minyoung, Jungyeon and Nayeon are for a long time together as trainees, and their team was supposed to debut, but that didn't happen. Now, two of them are in Major and the other two in Minor. First is Nayeon, then some other and first remarkable performance is Jihyo's with Hong Jinyoung's Love Battery.

Μια εβδομάδα μετά τον ορισμό των ομάδων έρχεται η ώρα για το Are You A Star. Οι κοπέλες έχουν δώσει μια λέξη κλειδί για την εμφάνιση τους για να τις διαλέγει ο JYP. Οι Minyoung, Jihyo (είναι εκπαιδευόμενη εδώ και 10 χρόνια), Jungyeon και Nayeon εκπαιδεύονται καιρό μαζί και η ομάδα τους αναμενόταν να κάνει ντεμπούτο αλλά μέχρι τώρα δεν συνέβη, φαίνονται δεμένες ωστόσο αυτή τη στιγμή οι δύο είναι Major και οι άλλες δύο Minor. Πρώτα εμφανίζεται η Nayeon, ακολουθούν μερικές ακόμα και πρώτη αξιοσημείωτη εμφάνιση είναι αυτή της Jihyo με το Love Battery της Hong Jinyoung.

Sana, one of the two girls from Japan instead of dancing or singing, showcased her variety skills by making JYP some spring rolls. Being good at variety shows is very important as it can grow the popularity of the group, and Sana is talented in that area. Sisters Chaeyeon and Chaeryeong followed, and Chaeryeong danced to three different girl group concepts (Goodbye Baby (missA), Crazy (4minute), No No No (Apink). Mina danced ballet and JYP was impressed because, well, he likes ballet.

Η Sana από την Ιαπωνία αντί να χορέψει ή να τραγουδήσει έφτιαξε spring rolls! Στη K-Pop άλλωστε αν ένα idol είναι καλό στα variety shows δίνει μεγάλη ώθηση στο γκρουπ και η Sana έχει ταλέντο σε αυτό. Ακολούθησαν οι Chaeyeon και Chaeryeong οι οποίες είναι αδελφές, η Chaeryeong χόρεψε τρία διαφορετικά σε στυλ τραγούδια από girl groups (Goodbye Baby (missA), Crazy (4minute), No No No (Apink). Η Mina χόρεψε σαν μπαλαρίνα εντυπωσιάζοντας τον JYP ο οποίος έτσι κι αλλιώς λάτρευε το μπαλέτο.

Chaeyoung performed a self-composed rap (very good), Jiwon also had a very good voice but we saw very few moments of Tzuyu. Dahyun impressed with her dance, and Somi had a taekwondo performance, while she revealed that she was bullied because of her half-Korean looks. The best dancer out of the 16 was chosen near the end of the episode.	Η Chaeyoung ράπαρε με δικούς τους στίχους (πολύ καλή), Jiwon επίσης πολύ καλή φωνή και δυστυχώς είδαμε ελάχιστα από τη Tzuyu. Η Dahyun ήταν ο εαυτός της και τα έδωσε όλα, η Somi είχε χορογραφία κάνοντας taekwondo, το οποίο τη βοήθησε να μην τη πειράζει το bullying (σχολικός εκφοβισμός) λόγω του ότι φαινόταν μισή Κορεάτισα, μισή κάτι άλλο. Η καλύτερη χορεύτρια από τις 16 επιλέχτηκε προς το τέλος.

The episode ended before Momo (aka Yura) started dancing (the song looks like Paradise Lost by Gain) creating the necessary cliffhanger. From the first show, some girls have already stand out (for me Chaeyoung, Jiwon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Dahyun) some get more screen time (it's normal) and the show is quite interesting for sure. Looking forward to the next episode!	Λίγο πριν η Momo (η αλλιώς Yura) ξεκινήσει το χορό (ακούγεται το Paradise Lost της Gain) η εκπομπή τελείωσε δημιουργώντας το κατάλληλο σασπένς για τη συνέχεια. Από τη πρώτη εκπομπή όπως ήταν λογικό κάποιες έχουν ήδη ξεχωρίσει (για μένα οι Chaeyoung, Jiwon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Dahyun) και κάποιες λογικά προβάλλονται περισσότερο. Αναμένουμε το επόμενο επεισόδιο.
